What were your first thoughts when the product arrived?
They looked great. The photograph on the front of the box showed all of the animals and they looked like they were going to be great quality.
How did you use the product?
Lily used them to learn about different farm animals. We made a farm out of outdoor resources and used the box to place it all in. Lily started to make the pigs jump around in the mud and the sheep eat the grass. We talked about the animals having babies and Lily was doing lots of imaginary play with them.
What are the educational benefits of the resource?
The toys are perfect for imaginary play as well as learning about animals and which of the babies go with them. They are perfect to discuss different animal habitats and what each animal eats. They also encourage language development with Lily making the animals talk to each other as well as talking about the different animals with me.
What did you like/dislike about the resource?
I loved the size of the animals. Not too big and not too small. They also weren’t too heavy to hold. It was great that they wiped clean as we loved making them jump and roll in the soil we used for the mini farm. I thought that the animals looked great and had nice detail though the way they had a line across each of their bellies where they were glued together didn’t look great.
What is the long term appeal of the resource?
A child can benefit from using these jumbo animals in so many different ways. They can be used at home, or outside. They are perfect to take along to the farm to compare with the real thing.
Is the product unique?
I think that the size of the farm toys and the fact they are not too heavy is what compares them to other brands. They are perfect for a starter farm set for a 2 year old.
