Back to School

Well now we’ve had the late August bank holiday, we know what comes next… Back to School! Are the shoes bought, the uniform ironed and the new pencil case chosen? That was my favourite bit of the summer holidays – a new pencil case!!

The hardest thing was getting back into routine. Whenever we’re on holiday I always find getting back into the nursery and work routine the biggest challenge. I happened across a great article on Parentdish UK with 10 tips to getting the kids out of the door in the mornings! They call it a ‘keep calm countdown’. Take a look at the article and read through the great tips. In the meantime, these were my favourites:

  • Lay the breakfast table the night before – my +1 and I often used to go without breakfast in the morning as we were trying to get other stuff done. This has been a great change, and Squirt much prefers eating all together.
  • Do all the school admin the night before – especially important for Mondays when lunch money is due!
  • Lay out children’s clothes the night before – not only is this a time saver, but has really helped Squirt with her dressing and undressing skills!

Perhaps instead of worrying about getting the children sorted for back to school you’re a teacher trying to get your classroom in shape ready for the first day of school? New borders, hundreds of laminating pouches and 30+ draws to organise will probably make the summer holidays seem a long time ago already! We have some great classroom essentials on our website, helping to give your class a boost this September!

The Magnetic Daily Schedule Clocks display a daily schedule and encourage time telling simultaneously! Great to get the class organised, complete with blank labels for your own topics and lessons.

MagnaBorders brighten up any magnetic whiteboard, or any magnetic surface! They come in either Tie-Dye or Polka Dot!

Our best selling classroom essential product is the Standard Pocket Chart. It helps create a learning area in seconds, display teaching materials in the front pockets, and store the ones not being used in the large pocket on the back. The Standard Pocket Chart is perfect for use with the Read Write Inc. programme! There is also an adjustable chart stand available too.

Parents, Teachers and everyone faced with the back to school routine soon, good luck!

Until next time…

Laura
